Williamsburg, Virginia
Similar to Washington DC in that it appeals to history buffs, Williamsburg is a beautiful colonial town that’s almost like a real-life museum. Tour the town and get a real-life history lesson, ride through the streets in a horse-drawn carriage, and visit the artisanal shops. If you or the kids have had your fill of history and education on your family getaway, come back to the future in the nearby Busch Gardens for the rollercoasters and waterpark.
